The problem

You did not start a business to do data entry on a Sunday night

Behind, and it keeps growing

Every month you do not touch the books, the job gets bigger and the dread gets heavier. It rarely fixes itself.

No idea what the numbers say

You can see the bank balance. You cannot see whether you made money last quarter, or which work is actually worth doing.

Deadlines arriving unannounced

VAT, payroll, Making Tax Digital, the confirmation statement. Missing one is expensive and entirely avoidable.

How we work

Three plans. Pick the one that matches where you are.

Catch-up

from £600 one-off

Fixed quote, agreed before we start.

  • Months or years brought up to date
  • Bank feeds reconciled in full
  • Clear timeline, usually two to four weeks
  • Your accountant gets clean records
How catch-up works

Beyond the books

Sometimes the real question isn't the numbers

Current books tell you what happened. They don't tell you what to do next — whether to hire, whether to raise prices, whether that new line of work is actually worth chasing.

For clients who want a thinking partner on those calls, our founder also runs Think Forward, a business advisory and coaching practice. It is a separate service, entirely optional, and never part of the bookkeeping sales conversation — but it is there if you want it.

Where it tends to come up

  • You are growing and not sure what to prioritise next
  • A decision keeps getting deferred because nobody else can weigh in
  • The quarterly numbers review on Sorted Plus raises a bigger question
  • You want an outside perspective before a big call — hiring, pricing, a new direction
Getting started

Four steps, and then you stop thinking about it

Most clients are fully set up inside a fortnight. The only real work on your side happens in step one.

  1. A twenty-minute call

What you do, how many transactions, what state things are in. We quote a fixed monthly fee on the call or straight after it.

  2. We take a look

Read-only access to Xero and your bank feed. If you are not on Xero yet, we handle the move.

  3. We clear the backlog

Whatever is outstanding gets brought current before the monthly service begins, so you start from a clean line.

  4. Monthly rhythm

Books reconciled, deadlines tracked, a plain-English summary in your inbox. You send us receipts through an app and that is the whole job.

Common questions

The things people ask on the first call

Are you accountants?

No, and we are clear about that. We are bookkeepers. We keep your records accurate and current, prepare and file VAT, and run payroll. Your accountant handles year-end statutory accounts and corporation tax — and they will be much happier receiving books from us.

Do you work with QuickBooks or spreadsheets?

We work in Xero only. It means we know it properly rather than knowing four platforms badly. If you are on something else, moving you across is a service we offer and it is usually painless.

How far behind is too far behind?

There is no such thing. We have picked up books that had not been touched in three years. It is a fixed quote and a defined timeline, and there is no lecture at any point.

Is my data safe with you?

Everything lives in Xero and a secure receipt-capture app, both with proper access controls. We never ask you to email bank statements. We are ICO registered and supervised by HMRC for Anti-Money Laundering purposes.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No. Monthly rolling with 30 days' notice on either side. If the service is not worth the fee you should be able to leave, and your Xero file is yours to take with you.

Next step

Twenty minutes, no pitch

Tell us where your books are right now — current, behind, or somewhere you would rather not say out loud. We will tell you what it would take to sort them and what it would cost.
