Why we started
Working with business owners on strategy at Think Forward, the same thing kept coming up: the advice was only as good as the numbers underneath it. Too often those numbers were months old, or wrong, or existed only in somebody's head.
So we built the bookkeeping side. Get the records right and current, and every other conversation about the business gets sharper. If you later want a thinking partner on direction and decisions rather than just the numbers, that is a separate conversation with Think Forward — never something we push as part of bookkeeping.
How we are set up
Three of us, all working in Xero, all UK based. Small enough that you know who is doing your books and can ring them. Structured enough that nothing stops when one person is on holiday.

Supervision by HMRC is a legal requirement for bookkeepers. It does not mean HMRC endorses or approves us.
Four things we hold to
A fixed fee, always
Hourly billing punishes us for getting faster and makes you hesitate before ringing. Neither helps. You get one number a month.
Plain English
Accruals, prepayments and reverse charge VAT are our problem. What you get is a summary that reads like a sentence.
Bad news early
If cash is going to be tight in six weeks, you hear it in week one. That is the entire value of current books.
Your data stays yours
The Xero file is in your name. If you leave, you take everything, and we will help with the handover rather than make it awkward.
